Sleeping Beauty, 21st Century style.
She discovers herself in this book and I think Sigh. First of all, some of the dialogues are humorous. I love that when she wants something she goes after it and doesn’t hesitate. She discovers herself in this book and I think that is what makes the book so much better. There are no discussion topics on this book yet.
The next morning was official summer day and I had a relaxing time at my patio with a lemonade and enjoyed every part of Lovestruck Summer. To her surprise, the label agrees, which means she’ll be spending the summer in America’s live music capital, Austin, Texas. I’ll admit some things were kinda predicatable, but it didn’t ruin the story. He encourages her to not make assumptions about people based on the labels she assigns them, exposes her to country music and helps her see beyond the surface of herself and others.
If anything, she’s too busy complaining about Russ, the neighbor who somehow manages to get on her nerves and won’t stop calling her ‘Priscilla’ instead of ‘Quinn.
When I read books like these, I always end up yelling at the main character because she doesn’t realize what everyone else realizes. In a random summr of silliness, she calls up her favorite record company late one night and lands herself her dream summer internship in Austin, Texas miles away from her home. Unlike most contemporary romances, though, I didn’t find the drama in this to be overwhelming.
Beautiful, funny, wise, built, loud, sexy, goofy frat boy Russ. Fourth, this meliissa might seem light and fluffy on the outside, but really has some meat to it. Then she goes and has a summer that changes her life, completely.
But it was still fun! Well, she turns out to be quite the opposite.

I recommend Lovestruck Summer by Melissa Walker for fans of young adult contemporary with romance, for fans of books with music in them, and for fans of books set in Texas.
No, the worst part is that this book is about hipsters. Something light and fun to take my mind off things. Jun 04, Iniya rated it liked it. Usually, it happens within the first hundred pages. I liked Russ from the start and grew to like him even more as the story progressed. Ugh I can’t believe that song I love is all over the radio now, I knew about it way before everyone else grr” and people that are not really open to other kinds of music because it’s too mainstream or whatever.
You take chances on shows. Another thing is that some of the scenes are quite sweet and romantic. That way, I can control what I let in.
Lovestruck Summer is more than just Quinn, though. Lovestruck Summer dives beneath the surface and introduces some unique main characters and a summer that brings about much change for many of its characters. This brings me to my first point: Penny lives a typical sorority meliss life.
The girl’s working for an independent label so of course this makes things all the more interesting. My name has a ‘q’ in it! As a conclusion, teens who enjoy Chick lit and fans of Tamara Summers will most likely find this book lovely! This author is instant-read for me, no-summary-necessary, and I’ve already started the next backlist title of hers, Violet On the Runway.

Okay, living with my sorority-brainwashed cousin, who willingly goes by “Party Penny,” is not exactly what I had in mind. I agree the story is kind of cliched, and I found myself rolling my eyes at certain moments in the book, but don’t you agree with me that sometimes light fun read would lift up your summer mood?? Take this one to the beach – or Barton Springs – and enjoy!
This book is more than neon swim tubes and water. I loved Penny and her dog, Miss Tiara.
I honestly can not say enough good things about this book. I thought she was moody and rather annoying. Yet I had one issue with the story as I’m not able to clearly identify if it’s the run-of-the-mill contemporary romance or something new. My bio What I write.
