This in turn can provide a spiritual and philosophical basis for dealing with such modern global issues as the protection of human rights, the preservation of the environment, and the attainment of world peace. An early Buddhist text known as the Dhammapada reads: Written at Mount Minobu and dated July 21,this treatise was written in appreciation for the Daishonin’s late teacher Dozen-ho.

Through the unifying principle expressed in the Lotus Sutra, however, those contrasting views are integrated and resolved, giving rise to the concept of the fusion of self and other. It has three volumes, and the last volume is the “zokuhen” or “subsidiary texts whose authenticity is problematic”. NO ONE in any scholastic circles uses it because it is so sectarian and unreliable.
That is why early Buddhism taught that enlightenment can only be gained by extinguishing earthly desires. We can summarize its message as follows: We are able to discern the beginnings of Mahayana within the Buddhism of India, but it began to flower and bear fruit in earnest as it encountered and spread among different cultures.
The authenticity of the Ten Major Writings has never been questioned. They read the commentary from their sect, or Leaders words, but not gsoho Sutra itself, therefore they have a tilted view. Works “whose authenticity is not established, yet which traditionally have been highly valued from the standpoint of doctrine or of faith” were included along with the fully authenticated writings gosbo Vol.

In the fall ofthe Soka Gakkai published The Writings of Nichiren Daishonin, which contains English translations of fully half the writings in the Japanese edition, and those translations have zensnu enthusiastically welcomed by persons interested in Nichiren Buddhism.
This goeho site is not affiliated with nor sanctioned by any organization affiliated with Soka Gakkai International. It asserts that during this time period shakubukuleading another to the correct Buddhist teaching by refuting his attachment to heretical views, is preferable to shoju gradually leading another to the true teaching without refuting his misconceptions.
This is because the various contradictions we see in society and the world ultimately boil down to contradictions within the human being.

It also recklessly mixes forged letters with authentic letters of Nichiren, so there is no way of knowing which is which. The Buddhist idea that everyone possesses the Buddha nature, or the potential for enlightenment, expresses a spirit of profound respect for human beings and leads naturally to a philosophy that deeply treasures life.
On the fiftieth anniversary of that important event, it is my pleasure to witness the publication of a new English dictionary of Buddhist terms, The Soka Gakkai Dictionary of Buddhism. To address and resolve zenahu problems and suffering associated with hosho and death, living and dying, is perhaps the most important problem facing humanity in the twenty-first century.
