It’s a carefully drafted story that is so relevant today in the midst of abusive relationships that are romanticized. He knew that no matter how hard he tried, he would never get Caitlin back. The book was all based off of love, or in this case old love. I also learned about why someone might stay in an abusive relationship. I found myself rooting for him to get help and stick with his recovery program.


Because he refuses to see the obvious that he needs professional help he continues to make bad choices. The question takes me by surprise. Thus begins Nick’s journey tlinn recalling what really happened in his relationship with Caitlin, as he toggles between the past written inside a journal flijn keeps and the present day, where he has to deal with the aftermath of his actions.
